安·路易斯·吉比 specializes in British Literature of the long eighteenth century. Her areas of research include representations of money 和 capital in early modern literature; the eighteenth-century novel; sentimentalism 和 the gothic; 和 eighteenth-century property law. 最近, she has focused on the intersections between literature 和 medical history in the eighteenth 和 nineteenth centuries.她的专著, 输血: Blood 和 Sympathy in the Nineteenth-Century Literary Imagination, was published by the University of Virginia Press (Fall 2019).

She was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship in 2021 for her current project, Fatal Labors:  Obstetrics 和 the Disabled Maternal Body in Nineteenth-Century Great Britain.
